We decided to opt for a simple colour scheme for our CD cover however decided to change the colours of our magazine advert slightly as we wanted something different and unique. We changed the colours to black and white and then inverted the colours to give off a ghostly vibe to represent her state of mind as well as to show a binary opposite between the music video and digipack as we included many colourful locations to contrast against the lyrics in our video. By making both products similar in style it will help to promote our album as it will be very recognisable to our audiences due to the simplicity of the cover which has a deeper meaning.
Our designs subverts the codes and conventions of a pop genre as normally a brightly coloured, or sexualised image is produced to portray an unforgettable image of the artist however, we believe that our design will stand out more to audiences and fulfil their expectations as our design doesn't give too much away leaving them intrigued.
